Bed Bug Treatment
Bed Bug Treatment – Follow The Right Procedures
Today’s modern generation in developed countries must be getting quite perplexed and confused about issues like how to get rid of bed bugs or bed bug treatment cost. After all, it is more than likely that they would not have even seen these pests moving about.
Yes, bed bugs were prevalent during World War II and since then better living conditions and rapid industrialization coupled with improved hygiene and sanitation ensured that they could not continue to breed as they used to.
But they seem to have made a return and have been spotted even in developed countries pretty regularly. Now this is not because there has been a sudden drop in sanitation or hygiene. In fact, cleanliness and awareness amongst people maintain proper hygiene has only increased thanks to media exposure.
The question then is, if it is not lack of hygiene, then what is it that has enabled these pests to make a comeback? Why are more and more people talking about bed bugs symptoms treatment and why are so many bed bug products being launched?
The answer is amazingly simple and something that is quite unexpected. You see, bed bugs are extremely mobile, adaptable and quick to adjust to foreign surroundings. With more and more people travelling across countries due to business and leisure, they are inadvertently carrying these tiny pests with them and introducing them back into developed countries. The pests are then easily able to adapt to the conditions in their new homes and start breeding quickly.
So when is it possible to initiate bed bug extermination procedures?
This is a question that is difficult to answer as it all depends upon how quickly you can identify bed bug symptoms in your house. That is a tricky thing since many of us do not know how a bed bug rash looks like to take appropriate bed bug rash treatment measures. Very often these bites are mistaken for mosquito or flea bites and people generally ignore them. Even if they decide to consult a doctor, it has been found that not many can immediately recognize them to be bed bug bites.
It is thus clear that when you notice small red bumps in a particular pattern on your skin and this is usually concentrated on your arms, neck or face, you should think about taking some steps to identify what could be causing them and how you can get rid of them.
Having said the above, there is no reason to panic. Bed bug bites are not dangerous as they are not capable of causing any infection or disease. But if left neglected and considering that these bed bugs normally feed every night off the host, the chances of these lesions developing into ugly blisters due to scratching and becoming infected is always there. Moreover, exposure to their feces and molting can cause allergic reactions and that is why it is imperative to identify their presence quickly. Once you do so, you can use a bed bug spray that is not harmful to anybody in the family.
There are other ways to prevent these pests from making an entry into your bed. Go for mattress and pillow encasements. If you have a box bed, go for a box bed encasement as well. All of them serve to create barriers making it difficult for the bed bugs to enter and start breeding. These pests are very adept at making use of the crevices within the bed and often hide within the seam or lining of the mattresses. It is not always possible with the naked eye to see them and by creating these barriers; you are making it difficult for them to settle down beneath your bed.
The advantage with such encasement products is that you need not go for any additional chemical treatment options and can thus save money as well as the chances of any adverse reaction to these chemicals. If in spite of these arrangements, your house gets infected, then do not remove the encasements. You only have to wait for some days for the bed bugs to die and then vacuum them off. Bed bugs cannot survive for long without blood.
What is the best bed bug rash treatment then?
The methodology of treatment would depend on the extent of infestation that is observed. Just remember that whichever method you choose, the attempt should be to totally eliminate any trace of these bed bugs. It is not enough to just remove them superficially. You must remove all molting, eggs, feces and other remnants fully to ensure that there is no chance of them making reappearance.
The following steps would be useful to you as you go about the bed bug extermination process:
a) First of all, make sure that your house has indeed been infected by bed bugs. The only way to determine that is to have some pictures of bed bugs, images of their eggs, skin and so on and compare with your findings.
b) Having confirmed this, you can prepare your house for the process. Start with clearing off all clutter and remove stuff that is no longer in use. This is a good opportunity to spring clean the house.
c) After removal, spray a mild insecticide to ensure sanitization of the place. If you spot any nests of birds, remove them immediately as they provide a very healthy breeding ground for these pests.
d) Clothing, bed sheets must be washed thoroughly with hot water and disinfectant. You may also place them under the sun for some days.
e) Furniture and upholstery need to be cleaned by vacuuming them or by steam cleaning them. Heat will kill any traces of these pests.
f) Scrape possible hiding areas of bed bugs totally and vacuum them so that there is nothing left in these crevices.
g) Fill up these crevices properly so that no insect can use them again.
h) Use a bed bug spray to totally cover all these places. Try to opt for organic sprays as they are environment friendly and will not cause any other reaction. Sometimes young children and elderly folks are not able to withstand the strong chemical fumes of the normally used pesticides and that is why ‘green’ pesticides are recommended.
The above measures can be undertaken by you if you do not want to rope in a professional and wish to save the bed bug treatment cost that is demanded by professionals. However, if you do not see any improvement or face a recurrence of the problem, you would have no alternative but to call an exterminating agency. They are well equipped with the necessary material as well as have trained manpower at their disposal to ensure that the job of eliminating these pests is done comprehensively.
Having said all of the above, there is no substitute for prevention. If you can observe total cleanliness and regular spring cleaning of your house, you will have reduced the chances of infection to a great extent. Similarly, if you happen to travel outside your city for some days, make sure that you clean your baggage and other clothing used during the journey meticulously to substantially reduce the chances of a bed bug infection in your house.

work is like being planted in completely foreign surroundings, while Ophibre is 500 feet away waving his arms and yelling “This is the way out!” only it takes you 40 minutes to reach him because the gravity is different wherever you are. getting through it without any guidance, logic or explanation, but on his terms. For that he should be commended.]]>
